Sweden - Findus sold to CapVest
EQT II has signed an agreement with FoodVest, a holding company controlled by private equity firm CapVest Equity Partners, to sell Findus. EQT acquired Findus from Nestle in January 2000 and since then has substantially restructured and reshaped the business and developed its leading positions within select categories of the branded frozen food market. read more

 Belarus - Ice cream production increases
Belarus’ Ministry of Statistics reports that enterprises operating under Belarus’ Ministry of Agriculture and Food produced 9,300 tonnes of ice cream in the first eleven months of 2005. read more

 Czech Republic - Tivall’s Investment
Israel’s Tivall food producer is to invest around USD 28 million) in the construction of a plant that will produce frozen foods for vegetarians in Krupka, in the Czech Republic. read more

 Lithuania - Fishlita starts operation
The Fishlita factory, producing frozen and smoked fish products, started operation at the Lithuanian port of Klaipeda in mid-December. read more

 UK - Bernard Matthews Food Service – kids’ favourite
Bernard Matthews Food Service’s Turkey Premiere has won the “Kids’ Healthy Options Meals” category in the Excellence in Food & Drink Awards 2005. Despite the product’s healthy credentials, it still has plenty of child appeal: the judges comprised a highly critical group of eight and nine year olds from the Amy Johnson Primaty School in Wallington, Surrey. read more
