 UK - Yearsley acquire part of Celsius First
Yearsley Group has purchased a significant proportion of the business assets of Celsius First from its administrators. The businesses at Bellshill (Glasgow), Grimsby and Wisbech have all been purchased, increasing the cold storage capacity of Yearsley Group by over 50%. Also incorporated in the purchase are a number of large managed distribution contracts including one from Hams Hall (Birmingham). read more

 Russia - Sadia - ready for frozen meat products
Sadia, the Brazilian meat producer, is planning to invest USD 70 million in the construction of a new meat plant in Russia. The company is to establish a joint venture with the Russian meat wholesaler, Miratorg, which is the exclusive distributor of Sadia’s products in Russia. read more

 Ireland - Unilever contracts out Irish distribution
Unilever is to contract regional distribution to local contractors and shed 84 workers (out of a total Irish workforce of 600). The company said that with the increasing centralization, less than 50% of frozen food products were delivered by Unilever’s own in-house distribution and this proportion was declining, making it unsustainable. read more
