 UK - UK keeps burger cooking standard
The UK food safety regulator intends to stick with its temperature and time guidance for cooking burgers and other minced meat products. The UK advice for cooking burgers at 70ºC for two minutes was reviewed by a Food Standards Agency (FSA) advisory committee due to a complaint from a US fast food restaurant. It said the cooking advice was too stringent and reduced the meat's quality. read more

Unilever has purchased the “Misa”, “Nanuk”, “Eskymo”, “Pierot”, “Terno” and some other ice cream brand names from the Alima Znackova Potravina ice cream producer in the Czech Republic. read more

 UK - Climate Change Agreement (CCA) for the temperature Controlled Storage Industry
After years of pressure on government, the Cold Storage and Distribution Federation (CSDF) has finally gained agreement from DEFRA and HM Revenue and Customs for a CCA for the temperature controlled storage industry across the UK.
This will give all operators of frozen or chilled storage and ice manufacturers an 80% reduction in the Climate Change Levy on their energy bills. read more
