Following a successful launch of the Pollock fillet in schools, which included a nomination for the 2016 ASSIST Innovation Award, Crown Foods has developed the product range of coated gluten-free MSC fish products to include both Wild Alaska Pollock and Wild Alaska Salmon, available in Brakes.
Trisha Rasor, marketing director at Crown Foods says, “We hope to step-change perceptions and expectations on the quality of gluten free products. Many of our customers love the range so much that they offer as part of main menus. Meaning, whether you have gluten intolerance or not, it is the center of plate fish dish of choice.”
Andrew Crawford, Fish & Seafood Category manager at Brakes says: “We want to be seen as market leaders in the provision of sustainably and responsibly sourced fish and seafood, driving the foodservice market in the right direction. The ongoing introduction of MSC certified products into our product range will help us to achieve this.”
Stefanie Siebels, UK Commercial Officer at MSC says:”The demand for sustainable fish has grown enormously in recent years. There are now over 3,000 MSC certified schools in the UK and 23 universities, all committed to serving MSC certified sustainable fish to their students. It is fantastic to see Crown Foods making more and more innovative products available to local authorities through Brakes.”
