Nurture Life Expands Into Frozen Aisle

Nurture Life, the direct-to-consumer brand known for nutritious, chef-crafted meals for children, is expanding into the retail freezer aisle with a launch at more than 700 Walmart stores. The move marks the company’s largest retail expansion to date and will make its meals available to millions of additional families.

Founded in 2015, Nurture Life has built its business around meals designed specifically for children ages 10 months to 10 years. The company uses real ingredients, protein and vegetables in recipes developed to offer balanced nutrition while introducing children to a range of flavors.

The move into frozen food comes as parents face a relatively narrow selection of frozen meals designed specifically for children. While convenience has driven innovation across much of the frozen-food category, options that combine kid-friendly flavors with nutritional attributes have remained more limited.

Nurture Life’s Walmart launch is intended to extend the company’s direct-to-consumer proposition into a more accessible retail setting, bringing its meals to shoppers who may not use meal-subscription services.

The initial lineup includes four Kids Meals: Beef Meatballs with Egg Noodles & Broccoli, Creamy Cavatappi with Uncured Bacon & Peas, Penne Bolognese with Carrots, and Ramen Noodles with Beef Meatballs & Broccoli. Each meal includes protein, vegetables and grains and is designed to appeal to children’s tastes while meeting parents’ expectations for nutrition.

“This is a major milestone for Nurture Life and an exciting next chapter for our brand,” said Jennifer Chow, co-founder of Nurture Life. “For the past decade, we’ve earned the trust of families by delivering healthy meals made just for kids through our direct-to-consumer business. Now we’re bringing that same commitment to Walmart, making it easier for millions more families to find better-for-you kids meals in the frozen aisle. Parents have long had convenient, high-quality frozen options for themselves, but there have been far fewer choices available for kids. We believe today’s parents are looking for something different, and together with Walmart, we have an opportunity to help redefine what families can expect from the frozen kids’ aisle.”
