Urschel and KRONEN are showcasing machinery designed to help food processors build complete processing lines at Anuga FoodTec India in Mumbai.
Visitors to Booth A-52 in Hall 2 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre can explore equipment designed to cut, wash, dry, peel and otherwise process food products, with a focus on streamlining operations and supporting consistent production.
Urschel, long known for its service, support and equipment quality, is positioning itself as a single source for processors seeking assistance with complete line development. The company says process integration, labor management and operating efficiency are increasingly important factors in food processing equipment decisions.
At the show, Urschel is displaying a range of new and established machinery for slicing, dicing, strip cutting, shredding and milling in continuous-production applications. The company is also offering complimentary test-cutting services on Urschel and KRONEN equipment, giving processors an opportunity to evaluate potential equipment configurations for their operations.
The Little Gem Aspire dicer is the centerpiece of Urschel’s display. Developed by the company’s Innovation and Development department, the compact machine uses a patented StatiCut knife assembly and crosscut knife assembly to produce slices ranging from 2 mm to 20 mm, dices up to 20 mm and strip cuts.
Named after the Little Gem, the new dicer is designed to combine ease of use with production performance and builds on the technology of its predecessor, which helped establish Urschel as a global supplier of food cutting equipment.
The DiversaCut 2110A Dicer is designed for large-scale production of slices, dices, strips and shreds. Its system is intended to simplify operation, while an infeed capacity of up to 10 inches, or 254 mm, in any dimension can reduce the need to precut products. Urschel says this can help lower labor costs and reduce waste.
The E TranSlicer Cutter is designed for continuous processing of firm and leafy, compressible products. Interchangeable stainless-steel cutting options include slicing, patented MicroSlice and julienne wheels. Optional static hold-down, non-powered top belts and powered top-belt hold-down assemblies can provide additional feeding support.
The CC Slicer is designed for high-capacity production of uniform slices and shreds across applications including potatoes, fruits, vegetables and cheese. The machine on display at Anuga FoodTec India is equipped with a MicroAdjustable SL-14 Slicing Head, which features 14 cutting stations for precision slicing.
The Comitrol Processor Model 1700 provides multiple reduction capabilities for continuous production, including comminuting, granulating, milling, flaking, slicing, liquefying, dispersing and pureeing. Urschel describes it as the most versatile machine in its Comitrol line.
The Comitrol Disc Mill 380, or DM 380, uses a disc-plate design and adjustable gap setting to process nuts in both small batches and high-volume continuous production. The machine can reduce whole or split nuts into a flowable nut butter or paste, while the plate gap can be adjusted to control the resulting texture.
KRONEN Processing Solutions
KRONEN machinery expands the equipment offering at the Urschel booth beyond precision cutting, giving processors access to equipment for additional stages of food production.
The belt-fed GS 10-2 Slicer is designed for slicing, dicing, shredding, grating and segmenting a range of products. Food enters the machine on an integrated flat conveyor before reaching a rotating cutting knife. Operators can set conveyor speeds through a keypad and adjust cut thickness without changing the knife.
The PL 40K Potato Peeler is designed for washing and peeling potatoes, carrots, beetroot, cabbage turnips, or kohlrabi, and other root vegetables in small and medium-sized production environments. Its abrasive system is designed to remove the peel gently, while the filling, peeling and emptying cycle can be completed within minutes. The machine can also be switched from peeling to washing mode without extensive adjustments.
The KS-100 PLUS Spin-Dryer is designed for high-capacity drying of products including lettuce, cut fruit and vegetables, canned products, pickled foods and caviar. Its features include an ergonomic design, a counter-rotating centrifuge cycle and 99 program memory locations. The system is designed to provide consistent spinning results while potentially reducing draining times and simplifying operation.
Together, the Urschel and KRONEN equipment on display is intended to give food processors a broader set of options for integrating cutting, preparation and handling processes into production lines, while addressing demands for efficiency, labor management and consistent output.
