Frozen Food Sales to Increase in Thailand, Says Expert

Consumer behavior is changing slowly in Thailand, with regards to purchasing and consuming frozen food, because of cities expanding and people’s lifestyles adjusting to this change, according to the president of the Thai Frozen Food Federation and President of one of the importand frozen food producing companies in Thailand, Sea Value.
“Traditionally, Asian people, which includes Thai people, are used to cooking fresh food, as opposed to frozen, however more people move to the towns and cities from the countryside and the lifestyles are changing. So the entire segment of frozen food is growing quite a lot. More and more people are looking for quick and convenient options to eat, which is what frozen offers”, Dr. Poj Aramwattananont said, exclusively to Frozen Food Europe, adding that shrimp is one of the top exports for Thailand, around the world.
“Regarding Thaifex, the trade fair is growing every year, which is a very good thing, and I believe it is very good for business, not only for Thailand but for all the countries that come from abroad to do business here.”
