Conagra Brands Names John Brase as Chief Executive, Marking Leadership Transition

Conagra Brands has appointed John Brase as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective June 1, 2026, signaling a new phase of leadership for the packaged food maker. Brase will also join the company’s board of directors.

He succeeds Sean Connolly, who will step down from his executive role and the board on May 31, 2026, concluding more than a decade at the helm of the company.

Brase brings over 35 years of experience in the consumer goods sector, with a background spanning strategic portfolio management, brand development and operational execution. He most recently served as President and Chief Operating Officer at The J.M. Smucker Co., where he oversaw U.S. retail operations, international business and the company’s Away from Home segment, in addition to leading sales, operations and supply chain functions.

During his tenure at Smucker, Brase focused on strengthening execution and expanding key brands while delivering productivity gains across the organization. Earlier in his career, he spent roughly three decades at Procter & Gamble, where he rose to Senior Vice President and General Manager of the company’s North America Family Care business, a division generating approximately USD6bn in annual revenue.

At Procter & Gamble, Brase led growth initiatives across several major household brands, including Charmin, Bounty, Puffs and Pampers, helping to expand market share and improve margins in a competitive consumer staples landscape.
