Food machinery manufacturer ANKO Food Machine is set to host its first online demonstration of automated samosa production, responding to increased global interest in Indian street food and growing industry expectations for hygiene in mass food manufacturing.
The digital event will feature three of the company’s samosa-making systems, each designed to help commercial producers scale operations while reducing food safety risks. The demonstration is expected to draw attention from frozen food producers, restaurants, manufacturers, and cloud kitchens facing pressure to deliver consistent quality in high volumes.
Indian chef Andy Singh Arya, founder of the 3 Idiots Toast & Curry restaurant chain, will join the event. Arya is expected to speak on how traditional Indian flavors can be preserved in modern food production, a subject gaining traction as automation expands across ethnic food categories.
ANKO’s lineup includes the PS-900 Punjabi Samosa Forming Machine, which automates the creation of the traditional pyramid-shaped samosa; the HLT-700U Filling and Forming Machine, a modular system that accommodates different molds and sizes; and the SRPF Semi-Automatic Samosa Production Line, which automates pastry sheet preparation but leaves wrapping to hand assembly to retain artisanal characteristics.
The move comes as demand for Indian snacks continues to climb, driven by growing interest in global cuisine and convenience foods. The Indian street food market was valued at USD41bn in 2024, with the samosa remaining one of its most sought-after staples. In May, ANKO introduced what it called the first machine capable of producing Punjabi samosas in a fully automated factory setting, requiring minimal operator oversight.
ANKO says its machines are engineered to meet international food safety standards and are designed to reduce the risk of contamination by limiting direct human contact with food during production.
Founded in 1978 in Taiwan, ANKO exports food machinery to more than 100 countries. The company manufactures machines for a wide range of ethnic foods—from dumplings to spring rolls and samosas—and incorporates ISO-certified processes, IoT features, and culinary consulting services into its operations.
