Alimentaria Gets Ready for 2014

72% of the planned exhibition space at Alimentaria has already been booked, nine months in advance of the trade show. The leading agri-food industry companies have confirmed their participation in the show, which will be held 31 March-3 April at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Vía venue. Next year, Alimentaria will once again place special emphasis on international expansion and innovation as the main paths to growth and competitiveness, along with demonstrating how the activities of brands contribute to a country’s social and economic development.

The Alimentaria shows with the most individual weight so far are Intervin, Intercarn, Multiproducto, Restaurama, Interlact and Expoconser. Together with the Autonomous Communities Pavilion, they account for more than half of the space booked to date. In terms of international exhibitors, the show already has companies from 21 countries. The organizers also expect the other shows that make up Alimentaria (Mundidulce, Olivaria, Alimentación Ecológica, Congelexpo, Expobebidas and Interpesca) to have an extensive selection of exhibitors, despite the current economic situation. Alimentaria as a whole is expected to feature some 3,800 firms, which together with the show’s activity and business areas, will occupy a net 85,000 m2 in six of the trade show venue’s exhibition halls. Alimentaria is a leading European trade show organized by Alimentaria Exhibitions, a Fira de Barcelona company specializing in organizing events for the food and drink retail trade, equipment and technology industries in Spain, Portugal, Mexico and Brazil.
