Stef Inaugurates Logistic Operation for Frozen Food

Jean-Pierre Sancier, STEF CEO, inaugurated the new logistics operation of the STEF Transport Fauverney site dedicated to food manufacturers, retailers and foodservices caterers.

Jean-Marc Bruère, Deputy Managing Director for STEF Transport said:  « With this logistics extension, the STEF Transport Fauveney site will strengthen the position of the STEF Group as the benchmark domestic and regional operator, offering the best local service to food producers and retailers. With this investment, STEF has safeguarded 130 jobs and created 30 jobs, 15 of which to be created with soon-to-start new contracts”.

Commissioned in July, the new logistics operation of STEF Transport Fauveney offers a storage volume of 38,000 m3 for food producers, with a special focus on cheese producers, red berries producers and liqueur manufacturers. It complements the transport operation of the STEF Transport Fauverney site, commissioned in February 2012.

Laurent Cluzel, Manager of STEF Transport Fauverney said: “Focused on temperature-controlled food products, STEF Transport Fauverney will provide a high-performing site to meet the expectations of our clients for the next 10 years. It will enable us to closely support the growth dynamic of the supply chain of our clients. The various rooms for deep freezing, de-freezing, reconditioning and blackcurrant storage are key assets and a significant source of differentiation on the market”.

With an area covering over 8,000 m² on a plot of 7 hectares, the transport operation of STEF Transport Fauverney is ideally positioned, close to the A31 / A39 motorways, next to the RD 905 round-about. Well-connected to the STEF network, the site offers fast delivery services (D+1) across France for refrigerated and frozen products. Its inbound/outbound flows are particularly well-balanced: each year, over 71,000 tons are delivered across the seven departments of the region (21-25-39-52-70-71-90) and close to 70,000 tons are shipped to other destinations in France and Europe.
