STEF Inaugurates Transport Site

Cold logistics French specialist STEF has recently inaugurated the new Transport Bischheim site, dedicated to food manufacturers, mass retailing and out-of-home foodservices, This is the second STEF site in France, and the first one in Alsace, to receive the NF HQE™ certification for logistics platforms and refrigerated warehouses.

Jean-Marc Bruère, chief operating officer, STEF Transport said: “Since 2009, STEF Group has invested heavily in the Strasbourg region, with the construction of four sites and the remodeling of another site. In total, 35 million EUR have been invested over the last five years, including 15 million for the new STEF Transport Bischheim site. This site will help STEF maintain and strengthen its presence in Alsace”.

Michel Goncalves, Subsidiary manager, STEF Transport Bischheim, said : “Dedicated to temperature-controlled food products, STEF Transport Bischheim will help us support the growth momentum of our clients with an efficient industrial operation well suited to urban deliveries. This NF HQE™ certified site will also help us reach our ambitious environmental and energy-savings goals”. 

The 9,000 m² site includes a refrigerated loading quay, with an area dedicated to urban deliveries, a deep-freeze storage room, a truck workshop, offices as well as social and technical facilities. It covers 6.6 hectares with 4,300 m² for a future extension.
STEF Transport Bischheim offers a refrigerated 5,655 m² receiving and loading quay and delivers 250 tons of goods (refrigerated and frozen food) per day over the Bas-Rhin region, with 45 daily departures. It also includes a 2,100 m3 deep-freeze storage room for 100 pallets to better serve food manufacturers.
