Leen Menken Foodservice Logistics recently started the construction of a new cold store opposite to the existing distribution centre. This marks the start of a (logistics) food campus located at the Lansinghage business park, according to a press release.
In this new warehouse, Leen Menken can continue to facilitate the growing demand of suppliers for conditioned fulfilment in combination with active conditioned distribution. The focus lies on direct distribution to companies (catering industry) and consumers.
Leen Menken Foodservice Logistics is a logistics fulfilment partner for companies in the food sector. What is unique about Leen Menken is that it combines storage (chilled and frozen), order picking, pallet and last-mile transport throughout the Benelux. This enables them to facilitate its customers in their growth; for start-ups, scale-ups, but also for large(r) multinationals.
By 2021, the considerable growth of both existing and new customers will have absorbed all the capacity of the organization. “With this expansion, Leen Menken’s capacity will almost double. In addition to a natural refrigerant, the roof will be fully equipped with solar panels and additional wind energy will be used as an energy source. The CO2 emissions will therefore be completely neutral”, according to Lucas Roskam, general manager of Leen Menken. It is expected that the new building will be operational at the end of 2022.
