A fully automated full label inspection service has been made available to food manufacturers by Mettler-Toledo Product Inspection. The technology examines all product types and forms and detects all label data and quality issues. In high speed manufacturing lines, this new portfolio, which consists of the V13 Flat Pack Label, CV, and CMV Combo, is a cost-effective approach to replace unreliable, manual spot checks with 100% automated label inspection. To improve consumer safety, avert recalls, and lower store fines, the system enables recorded label inspection in accordance with industry standards as the BRCGS.
Issues with label data and label quality cause many firms to suffer. Labeling has long been a problem for manufacturers that cannot be properly resolved with human spot inspections, from frequent operator errors to equipment problems, like shredded labels or ink smearing. The new label inspection service from Mettler-Toledo accurately identifies any non conformance, whether it be ensuring that the proper product is in the right container, that the codes are readable, or that the contents, such as allergens, are correct.
The updated product comes with cutting-edge Mettler-Toledo smart cameras to check oriented objects from the top and side. This innovative new smart line scan camera features a 360° inspection head for inspecting circular objects and effectively checks labels or prints on the underside of products. In addition to being used to inspect caps and lids, the cameras can be combined and matched to meet any manufacturing requirements. The software has a dedicated tool set for label examination that aids in product setup and is especially simple to use. Additionally, it provides Software Tooltips, inspection tools that help operators understand how to adjust image processing settings like lighting, shutter, or focus to maximize image quality. Existing Mettler-Toledo equipment can be retrofitted with the new technology, significantly saving space.
