Tipiak is expanding its presence in the UK foodservice market with the launch of a vegan canapé assortment, as operators seek to broaden plant-based offerings while maintaining premium presentation and operational efficiency.
The French frozen food specialist has introduced a 36-piece Vegan Canapé Selection designed for hospitality, events and banqueting, where visual appeal and consistency are critical. The range reflects a growing emphasis on globally inspired flavors and varied textures, packaged in a recyclable kraft tray to align with sustainability expectations.
The assortment combines six distinct bites, including falafel-style pieces paired with lemon sauce, chives and mint, alongside corn and flaxseed crackers topped with guacamole and parsley. Other offerings include tomato, piquillo and bell pepper tartlets, vegan blinis with coconut bean tartare, and carrot-based bites with Indian-inspired seasoning and sesame seeds. A sweeter option rounds out the selection, pairing hazelnut shortbread with beetroot and raspberry hummus.
The launch comes as foodservice providers respond to shifting consumer preferences. In the UK, 31% of consumers say high-protein products made with plant-based ingredients are more appealing than those derived from animal protein, while 54% report frequently exploring new and diverse cuisines when dining out. These trends have pushed operators to rethink menus, particularly in premium and event-driven settings.
Supplied frozen, the 400-gram assortment contains 36 pieces, each weighing roughly 11 grams, and requires about four hours of defrosting. The format is designed to minimize preparation time while delivering a consistent, high-end presentation, making it suitable for drinks receptions, large-scale catering and other service environments where speed and portion control are essential.
“Plant-based canapés need to do more than meet a menu requirement. They have to look inviting, offer flavours guests will enjoy and work practically for caterers under service pressure.
“With the Vegan Canapé Selection, we wanted to bring together vibrant presentation, globally inspired flavours and a variety of textures in a format that is simple to prepare and easy to serve. It gives operators a straightforward way to add a premium vegan option across drinks receptions, banqueting and event catering, while keeping back-of-house complexity to a minimum,” said Marie-Emmanuelle Chessé, international marketing manager at Tipiak.
The product will be distributed in the UK through Central Foods, reflecting Tipiak’s strategy of leveraging established distribution partners to scale its footprint in key international markets.
