Wicked Kitchen, Booker Team Up to Bring Plant-based Options to UK Market

In time for summer menus, Wicked Kitchen, a chef-driven, 100% plant-based global food brand with a wide variety of chef-created products, and Booker, the top wholesaler in the UK, have teamed up to offer the broadest selection of vegan options for food service and cash and carry.

To satisfy consumer demand for craveable, chef-crafted plant-based dishes, Booker currently provides a variety of Wicked Kitchen’s catering packs company-wide at its 195 locations, with additional products coming this summer. This debut coincides with the perception that there aren’t enough options or that plant-based food isn’t readily available by 77% of UK customers. In order to get around these obstacles, Booker and Wicked Kitchen will provide restaurants, bars, and caterers with quick, easy, and delectably versatile food service options, such as Wicked’s meal solution pouches, breakfast pastries, savory pies, hamburgers, sausages, desserts, and ice cream.

Booker’s commitment to increase its vegan selection supports its sustainability goals in addition to satisfying the demand for chef-crafted, full-flavored plant-based foods in the food service industry, as plant-based foods are known to be more environmentally friendly than products containing animal proteins due to their lower carbon footprints.

“As chefs who grew up in restaurants and catering, we love Booker and are honored to offer a one-stop solution while also helping to inspire chefs and food service operators with amazing vegan foods that are versatile and easy to prepare,” said Chef Derek Sarno, co-founder of Wicked Kitchen. “By bringing the largest variety of plant-based products for food service to market, we are meeting consumer requests for flavour-forward, 100% vegan catering packs. Our foods appeal to vegans and omnivores alike.”

Chefs and brothers Derek and Chad Sarno introduced Wicked Kitchen for the first time at Tesco in the UK in 2018, igniting the plant-based trend with more than 150 goods available there. The brand went international in 2021, entering the United States, then in 2022, entering Finland and Thailand.
