Cool Logistics Africa returns to Cape Town

Following two successful events in 2012 and 2013, Cool Logistics Africa returns in 2014 to Cape Town, at the heart of the Southern Africa citrus industry, to continue the debate on how to foster Africa’s perishables trade growth – by land, air and sea.

Moving to a new timeslot in early March, coinciding with preparations for the upcoming citrus export season, Cool Logistics Africa 2014 will once again provide a platform for everyone concerned with improving Africa’s perishable supply chain efficiency to connect, communicate and do business. One of the biggest stumbling blocks across the African Continent remains the lack of adequate infrastructure and the need to overcome operational deficiencies, staff shortages and new ways of tackling burdensome bureaucracy. The theme of the third conference will be ‘Developing new perishable trade and logistics growth strategies across the Sub-Saharan region’.

Confirmed speakers so far include Sanjeev Gadhia, CEO of Astral Aviation who will talk about Intra-Africa perishable trade. Also, Saxen van Coller, CEO of Dube TradePort will present the Dube AgriZone, an exciting new development making for Africa’s first integrated perishables supply chain in close proximity to the new airport in Durban, thus ensuring minimal handling time from harvest to transit. “Cool Logistics Africa has become a recognized platform for driving perishable logistics towards new levels of efficiency, promoting trade facilitation and forging international links with perishable markets in and outside Africa,’ says Alex von Stempel, Managing Director, Cool Logistics Resources. The event takes place 4-6 March 2014
