Alpha Foods, a company making plant-based frozen meals, announced its seed investment earlier this month, via a USD7m round of funding co-led by New Crop Capital and AccelFoods.
The infusion of capital will allow the company to expand the brand’s reach and expand its plant-based product portfolio. Alpha Foods offers meals including burritos, pot pies, chik’n nuggets, and tamales, all of which are made of plant-based, non-GMO ingredients.
“As we continue to expand and reach more customers, our mission remains the same to help vegans and non-vegans alike make small changes for their health and the environment by providing unrivaled plant-based taste. We are fortunate to have found partners in New Corp and AccelFoods to help propel our brand in this next chapter,” said Cole Orobetz, co-founder and CFO/COO of Alpha Foods.
The firm’s portfolio of 20 products are currently available in over 6,000 stores nationwide, including Walmart, Sprouts, Kroger and Publix. With the new investment on board, Alpha Foods hopes to be able to bolster innovation, as well as distribution.
