Indian seafood exporter Amalgam Group is seeking to capture a larger share of the frozen food market in India by introducing a range of health-oriented frozen foods and rolling out exclusive retail outlets to market it, reports Economic Times.
The new products will be sold under the Buffet brand, which belongs to the company’s Amalgam Frozen Foods arm. According to Amalgam Chairman, Abraham J. Tharakan who was cited by the report said that the company’s objective is to position the Buffet brand as the country’s health-oriented frozen food range.
The company started by selling gluten-free rice roti and will soon launch gluten-free parathas and chapatis. Current products include organically grown green peas and sweet corn, as well as coconut products from organically certified sources.
The company plans to increase its network of exclusive Buffet products outlets from the present 3 to 100 in the next three year.
