Black Pork’s Deep-frozen Pork Aims to Make Chefs’ Life Easier

Black Pork is a brand of pre-cooked pork for the foodservice industry hailing from Valencia, Spain. The company currently offers three products including ribs, shoulder and knuckles. All options are pre-cooked for two days in a row, vacuum packaged and deep frozen.

“The idea is to have excellent pork products and save time in the kitchen for chefs and their teams. The great advantage for chefs is having the option to let the product defrost the day before, so that the next day they can cook the black pork in the oven, for only 30 minutes at 2500C, until it becomes golden and crispy,” explained Black Pork’s CEO Jose Luis Ramirez for Frozen Food Europe. Products have a shelf life of 18 months.

The company relies on the manufacturing service of a pork factory in Valencia, Spain which produces in exclusivity for Black Pork. According to Ramirez, the facility has tripled its size in order to meet worldwide exporting demand. Speaking of which, Black Pork products are currently available on the Spanish and European market, but the company has plans to expand on the Asian market especially mainland China where pork consumption is very high and where pork from Spain is a very popular.
