As of May 04, 2018, frostkrone takes over all shares in the frozen food manufacturer Piz’Wich. The company is thus continuing to pursue its growth course and is also expanding its global presence with a new, international location. “It is important for our retail partners that they can rely on our flexibility, competence and reliability. I am convinced that with the acquisition of Piz’Wich we are setting the right course for a successful future,” explains Frédéric Dervieux, managing partner of frostkrone Tiefkühlkost GmbH.

frostkrone has been on the market for more than 20 years and stands for innovation and competence in the deep-frozen foods sector. With a wide and varied range of deep-frozen finger foods and snacks, the company convinces its customers in Germany and abroad and has been recording steady sales growth since 2013.  In particular, the export market has been expanded continuously. The current product range is delivered Europe-wide, among others, to Scandinavia, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Portugal, Great Britain and Switzerland. In 2017, additional Eastern European countries were added. The delicious finger food products can also be found in the freezer cabinets of supermarkets in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Russia. Likewise, the products have been delivered to the USA since last year.

“Our products are uncomplicated in preparation and consumption. They fit in with the attitude to life of many people who like to make their meals flexible and yet do not want to compromise on taste, quality and selection,” explains Frédéric Dervieux, and continues: “and that’s what also links us with Piz’Wich. The company also attaches great importance to quality and scores with a wide product portfolio.”

Since 2017, with the new main investor EMERAM, frostkrone has a strong partner at its side, supporting the growth course and accompanying the expansion of the company.

Piz’Wich, based in the French city of Bulgnéville, was founded in 2001 and has been able to develop successfully ever since. Led by Stéphane Delahaye, the company focused on the manufacturing of deep-frozen snacks. The specialist for pizza sandwich pockets has, among others, developed the innovative product “Pizza Pocket”. The handy pocket snack products are available, for example, in the popular varieties “Mozzarella Pesto”, “Tarte Flambée (Alsace pizza)”, “Chili Con Carne” and “Salami”. Piz’Wich attaches great importance to quality and traceability of the ingredients. All products meet the strict requirements for certification and control.

“We have steadily expanded our product range in recent years and worked continuously on our expansion targets. Now we are looking forward to benefit from synergies with frostkrone and to continue on the successful course we have already set,” says Stéphane Delahaye, CEO of Piz’Wich.

“Recognizing trends at an early stage, and then implementing them in a snack-fit manner – that’s our ambition and motivation,” says Frédéric Dervieux. “Together with Piz’Wich we can be even more innovative and diverse.
