In only a few years’ time the Belgian company Herbafrost has become one of Europe’s leading frozen culinary herb producers.
Their mission is to provide a wide range of ready-to-use high quality IQF herbs, whose characteristics are very similar to those of fresh herbs, but with the assurance of a food safe product, at competitive pricing and with excellent service.
One of Herbafrost’s winning cards is undoubtedly the excellent quality of their products. The fields where the herbs are cultivated with the utmost care are near to the production sites in Hulshout and Vladslo. In no time, the herbs are harvested, washed, chopped and quick-frozen.
All this results in Herbafrost proudly holding certificates for BRC (Global Standard for Food Safety) and IFS (International Food Standard).
Herbafrost constantly strives to extend its range to be able to offer its customers the trendiest ingredients. But let’s not forget about the more “common” herbs like for example chives.
Chives (Allium schoenaprasum) are grown for their scapes, which are used for culinary purposes. They have a wide variety of culinary uses, such as bringing taste to fish, potatoes, soups and other dishes. In Poland they are served with quark cheese.
Chives are also one of the “fines herbes” of French cuisine, which also include tarragon, chervil and parsley.
To complete their range, Herbafrost also offers a selection of the finest organically grown culinary herbs. They are cultivated and processed under the supervision of Tüv Nord-Integra, the independent Belgian control body for organic agriculture.
