UK-based frozen fish processor Young’s Seafood is rolling out its new pollock-based Chip Shop Fillet of Fish Quarter Pounder at ASDA supermarket. The product is a natural source of Omega 3 and is wrapped in crisp butter, says the company.
The announcement comes shortly after the company has started supplying the retailer with its Popcorn Scampi Bites.
Young’s is selling its latest addition in packs of two for GBP2. According to the nutritional information on the package, the fillets feature 12.6 g of fat and 1.2g of salt. They are available to purchase online, as well as in brick-and-mortar stores.
In related news, Young’s Seafood has recently been acquired by UK pork producer Karro Food Group, which in turn, is owned by CapVest.
Following the takeover, the two companies are said to continue to operate as two separate businesses. However, Karo Group’s executive chair Di Walker will now also serve chief executive officer (CEO) of the new group consisting of both companies.
