Righi Wins Anuga Award for Vegetable Ice Cream

The “GELATO DI VERDURA” presented by Righi is an international innovation since the product didn’t exist in the market until a few days ago.

The basic idea is to propose a new and pleasant way to eat vegetable, also for those consumers, young and old, who don’t like consuming this foodstuff in a traditional way.  An innovation in the moment of consumption of vegetables – the end meal – but also in terms of intrinsic product values and organoleptic characteristics: A high percentage of vegetable (from 20% to 30%), lower fat and reduced calorie compared to a traditional ice-cream, a product in line with the emerging trends (certified Vegan, gluten free), an organoleptic and sensory performance that matches in a balanced and wise way the salty taste of the vegetable with the pampering and sweet sensation of the fruit sauce.  

A range of 3 products realized with Italian recipes typically Mediterranean that struck the international audience of visitors: carrot and lemon sauce – pumpkin and Balsamic Vinegar sauce – tomato, basil and strawberry sauce.  

Righi is the only Italian company of the frozen sector that was awarded the ANUGA TASTE 15 – Top Innovation of Anuga 15 prize, for the presentation of the “GELATO DI VERDURA”. A prestigious award considering that only 61 products were selected from over 2.000 participating products, analyzed and chosen from an independent jury designated from the organizing authority.
