Messe Stuttgart has decided to cancel this year’s südback, the Trade Fair for the Bakery and Confectionery Trades, as many exhibitors are uncertain on account of the current situation in Baden-Württemberg. In spite of extensive preparations, this development was reflected in the demand and booking level for the event. An exhibitor survey conducted by Messe Stuttgart revealed that there is no adequate basis for südback this year, a company statement reads. südback was scheduled from October 17 to 20.
“In the present circumstances, we are unfortunately unable to guarantee the customary and desired success for exhibitors and visitors,” Andreas Wiesinger, member of the Board of Management of Messe Stuttgart said. “We very much regret the developments since the bakery industry is therefore losing its central platform for exchanging information this year. This platform would have been necessary after these difficult months with the corona crisis.”
The decision was taken in close cooperation with the exhibitors and after amicable discussions with the südback partners, i.e. BÄKO Head Office of Southern Germany, the State Association of Guilds of Württemberg Bakers and the State Association of Guilds of Baden-Württemberg Confectioners.
