Strong Roots Launches Plant-Based Line for Children

Irish plant-based company Strong Roots has added a new range for children called Little Roots. It consists of Sweet Potato & Butternut Nuggets, Crunchy Corn & Carrot Chunks, Pea & Lemon Minis, and White Root Vegetable Bites. The range is already available in Asda UK and will be offered in Tesco next month, followed by Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Ocado, and Marks & Spencer during the summer, according to Vegconomist.com.

“The range has been created to teach kids about texture, origin and provide food that is healthy for the whole family”, Strong Roots founder & CEO Samuel Dennigan declared for The Grocer. “Parents need something that they can trust is good and most of the time that means doing it themselves from scratch. Now they don’t need to.”

In autumn 2019 Strong Roots raised USD18.3m in a Series A fundraiser, which it used to expand the frozen goods line and to grow its presence in the US and UK markets. The Irish Times reported this year that sales for Strong Roots in the UK topped GBP6.2bn in the fiscal year that ended in September 2018.
