ACS&T Will Distribute Easibake Frozen Goods

Food logistics specialist ACS&T has won a five-year contract with Easibake Foods (a subsidiary of Evron Foods Group) for distributing its frozen bakery products to fast food stores and supermarket locations throughout the UK.

The new contract will see ACS&T manage outbound deliveries from Easibake Foods’ Welsh plant in Pontypool to key customers, delivering around 30 loads a week of specialty breads and baked goods.

“Our brief to ACS&T was simple, to provide an exceptionally efficient and complete operational solution for all Easibake’s customers serviced out of Pontypool. What impressed us was ACS&T’s account management methodology, which set out a clearly structured, performance led project strategy to take the opportunity from the start up phase to steady state,” said Easibake’s operations director, Dermot Dornan.

ACS&T’s methodology is set out in a Project Charter, which shows how they will implement a fully bespoke, managed and optimized transport solution for daily movements from Easibake, Pontypool to ACS&T’s BRC certified Food Service Centre in Wolverhampton. This involves setting up a ‘control tower’ operation with ACS&T’s own small core fleet of vehicles based on site at Pontypool, linking in with strategic sub-contracted partners for onward transport to foodservice and retail delivery points nationwide.

ACS&T’s business development director Mike Rice added: “We’re proud to be supporting Easibake. By applying our process-based methodology, we’re confident we’ll be able to add real value to their logistics operation and we look forward to a great partnership.”
