American frozen food company Amy’s Kitchen, mostly known for its range of vegetarian and vegan retail products, intends to expand its Drive-Thru concept on a national scale in the US.
Two years after the company opened its first location in Rohnert Park, California, six new Northern California locations are currently in the works, according to Fast Company. Also, this summer the company decided to open a pop-up food truck in New York City, on the occasion of the National Veggie Burger Day.
“Since the minute we opened the first Amy’s Drive Thru in Rohnert Park, we’ve heard nonstop requests for additional locations. Those will be coming in the future, but for now, we wanted to take the California spirit of Amy’s on the road. We chose to show up in New York City, where we have some of our most vocal fans,” said Paul Schiefer, director Restaurant Operations at Amy’s Kitchen, in a press release.
If successful, this will become the first ever vegetarian fast food chain in the US.
