Wayne-Sanderson Farms has announced the forthcoming retirement of Clint Rivers from his position as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective at the close of the company’s fiscal year on March 31, 2025.
However, Rivers will continue to play a key role within the organisation, serving as Executive Chairman of the Board for the 2026 fiscal year.
Kevin McDaniel, currently Chief Operating Officer, has been appointed as Rivers’ successor and will assume the CEO role on April 1, 2025. This leadership transition follows a period of significant growth and strategic transformation under Rivers’ tenure, which included his pivotal role in the 2022 merger of Wayne Farms and Sanderson Farms, solidifying the company’s position as the third-largest poultry producer in the US.
Rivers joined Wayne-Sanderson Farms in 2012 as Vice President and General Manager of the Fresh Business Unit, and his leadership trajectory saw him rise to Chief Operating Officer in 2014, before taking on the roles of President and CEO in 2017 and Chairman of the Board in 2018.
McDaniel, who has held various senior roles within the company since 2021, brings over 30 years of industry expertise to his new position. His experience includes leadership roles at Aviagen North America, OK Foods, and Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation. He also serves on the boards of the National Chicken Council and US Poultry & Egg Association, further underscoring his extensive experience in the sector.
