Dachser, a major logistics company, has finalized its acquisition of the Brummer Group, a significant player in Central European food logistics. This acquisition encompasses Brummer’s entire operational logistics business in both Germany and Austria.
The move is part of Dachser’s strategy to expand its European food logistics network, particularly in Austria and neighboring countries. With regulatory approval from German and Austrian competition authorities, Dachser can now begin integrating Brummer into its operations.
Brummer, known for its expertise in food logistics, specializes in transportation, warehousing, and contract logistics for various food products, including frozen items stored below -18 degrees Celsius. The company primarily serves southern Germany and Austria.
This acquisition brings Brummer fully under Dachser’s ownership, incorporating it into Dachser’s European network for temperature-controlled food transport and storage. The integration aims to provide customers with consistent quality standards across the expanded network.
Dachser’s acquisition includes both Brummer Logistik GmbH in Germany and Brummer Logistic Solutions GmbH & Co KG in Austria, effectively absorbing the entire Brummer Group’s logistics operations.
“Along with our recent acquisitions of Müller Fresh Food Logistics in the Netherlands and Frigoscandia in northern Europe, our acquisition of Brumme reinforces our position as a food logistics company in Europe,” says Burkhard Eling, Dachser CEO.
