According to the recently published report of iData Insights “India Frozen Food Market Overview”, the frozen vegetables market was 31% of the total frozen food market and is anticipated to increase further. The category is expected to grow at a CAGR of 17.65% over next six years due to changed lifestyle, year round availability and price stability of frozen vegetables.
“Demand for frozen vegetables is increasing in the country as tier-I and tier-II cities are aware of the brands and products. No. of working women’s have increased in these cities which makes such ready to eat products more demanding. The frozen food market is yet at a very emerging stage in the country, as only 2% of the entire production of vegetables are frozen. According to the information received, India is the second largest producer of vegetables (162.19 Million tonnes) in the world, contributing 14% of the total world production of vegetables.
Category wise, Green Peas are the most popular frozen processed vegetable, produced and purchased in India, followed by Mixed Green Vegetables and Corn.
