Frozen pizza specialist Dr. Oetker has recently completed a GBP30m investment in its Leyland facility located in the UK, writes Insider Media. The capital injection enabled the company to add a new production line, raw storage capacity, and technology, which will lead to faster and more efficient freezing.
At the same time, the company is celebrating ten years of operations at the site, during which time the size of the staff increased from 360 to 440. According to the company’s UK Managing Director, Georg Heerdegen Parsbo the new investment will allow Dr. Oetker to meet the demand for its frozen pizza in the UK, as well as overseas,
The investment will reportedly create more than new 100 jobs at the Leyland plant.
Dr. Oetker acquired the manufacturing facility in 2009 from Schwans UK and since then has undertaken a series of significant investment projects to allow 95% of the pizzas it sells in the country to be produced there.
