Swedish-based vegan oat milk brand Oatly has announced it is bringing its oat milk-based ice cream range to the UK. Three flavors will be offered initially, reports Vegetable Food and Living.
Launching in Tesco from the end of October, Oatly will make available the following options to British ice cream fans:
- Chocolate Fudge
- Hazelnut Swirl
- Salted Caramel
The price is GBP4.50 per unit; each option contains 235, 220 and 246 calories per 100g respectively.
This summer, Oatly expanded its market reach by launching a total of seven ice cream flavors on the U.S. market. The company’s vegan ice creams are also available in Sweden, Finland, and Norway.
Oatly was founded back in the 1990s and is based on Swedish research from Lund University. The company’s patented enzyme technology copies natural processes and turns fiber-rich oats into nutritional liquid food that is perfectly designed for human consumption.
The company operates out of the southern region of Sweden with headquarters in Malmö, while the production and development center is situated in Landskrona.
