Positive Interim Result for Anuga

Under the key theme “Transform”, the leading global trade fair for food and beverages is picking up on trailblazing future themes this year and is presenting among others innovations from the cell-based proteins, meat substitute products, clean label, free-from, health and functional foods sections, according to a press release.

The congresses that are being staged parallel to the trade fair also address the key topic. For example, the New Food Conference is celebrating its Anuga debut this year with a focus on cell-based proteins. What’s more, the sustainability conference of the Centre for Sustainable Corporate Management (ZNU) will examine the complexity of a wide range of sustainability challenges across the supply chain such as, for example, the climate, packaging, food losses and human rights. The innovation summit, Newtrition X, will be addressing topics of change and will provide insights into new cognitions regarding personalised diets.

Anuga is currently recording a positive interim result: Around 4,000 companies from 91 countries have already registered and further registrations are expected particularly in the form of joint country participations. This year’s Anuga won’t quite match the full international scope of exhibitors compared to previous events due to the pandemic. However, all 10 trade shows are taking place and the entire grounds of Koelnmesse are covered. The country participations with the highest number of exhibitors come from Belgium, Germany, France, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Turkey and the USA.

Anuga 2021 is ready to rare and is playing a key role in the successful re-start of the market. At the same time, the leading global trade fair for food and beverages is also setting new concept-related benchmarks: The leading global trade fair is combining the great strengths of a physical event with trailblazing digital features in the form of Anuga @home. The hybrid approach enables professionals from the food industry to discover attractive trade fair presences and products and connect with relevant contact partners via innovative channels.

The Federal Government is also supporting the re-start of trade fairs. With the aid of the new funding programme of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), small and medium-sized companies based in Germany will receive financial support in participating at leading international trade fairs in Germany – hence also at Anuga. The aim of this programme is to support the marketing of innovative products, processes and services as efficiently as possible to open up export markets. The funding comprises of a subsidy towards the costs for stand rental and stand construction of up to EUR12,500.
