Amy’s Kitchen Opens California Production Center

American frozen food company Amy’s Kitchen is mostly known for its range of vegetarian and vegan retail products. At the new facility in San Jose, California, the company is producing frozen organic pizzas and is looking to hire more workers as it intends to expand the production lines to allow manufacturing of frozen enchiladas.

“We looked all over California for a new production center, in Southern California, the Central Valley, and we picked this location,” Andy Berliner, chief executive officer and co-founder of Amy’s Kitchen, said in an interview quoted by Mercury News. According to the media outlet, Amy’s Kitchen sought out the new location because it discovered that people working from home during the COVID-19 outbreak were seeking more frozen foods.

The company opened its first location in Rohnert Park, California, in 2015.
