Romania Hosts International Potato Convention

The magazines Potato Processing International and Potato Storage International are currently hosting the new edition of the International Potato Processing and Storage Convention.

The event takes place in Bucharest, between June 17-19, at the Radisson Blu hotel and has as main topic the theme of “Dynamic industry solutions – looking into the competitive future of potato processing and storage.”

“IPPSC 2015 is bringing another dimension to industry events as we know them. Not only we are talking about latest innovations, having a strong backbone in print and online projects, we were enthusiastic to provide additional value to our audience, by preparing content related to better understanding of trends and end consumer. During the first day of the event, our speakers showed up with their sharp and dedicated knowledge and precision that should be used in informing an even wider public audience about food processing,” said Svjetlana Krznaric, publisher of Potato Processing International and Potato Storage International magazines.

In order to best highlight the latest technological trends and advances in potato processing and storage, the Convention is packed with highly respected speakers and attendees, for each of the differently themed days.

Some examples of presentations delivered by speakers who took the floor during the first day included “European and CEEC Potato Opportunities”, delivered by Cedric Porter of World Potato Markets, “Clean Label in Potato Processing Industry”, by Giorgiana Jelescu of Euro Consultants, “Making Healthier Frying a Reality”, by Arnaud Jansse of Florigo Industry B.V, and “Overview of Available Fryer Technology”, by Bobby Kane of Heat and Control.

“The industry and the technologies backing it up are continuously changing, and we wanted our conference to reflect that. We have brought together speakers and topics showing latest advances in all potato processing stages, hosted analyst insights into major and emerging consumer trends which are industry drivers. The convention topics follow the potato chain through growing, storage and handling for a complete and dynamic picture of the industry today,” said Catalina Mihu, conference content manager and editor of European Baker magazine.
