SeaPak Shrimp & Seafood said it is starting the year with three new frozen products aimed at shoppers seeking bold flavors and quick, restaurant-style meals at home, expanding its lineup as demand rises for convenient, high-quality seafood.
The company said the new items—Chili Lime Shrimp, Breaded Flounder Tenders and Breaded Scallops—are arriving at select retailers this month. SeaPak said the products are designed to meet growing interest in globally inspired flavors, a wider range of seafood options and meals that can be prepared quickly to fit busy schedules.
The Chili Lime Shrimp combines chili spices, lime and real butter in a sauced shrimp dish intended for use with rice, quinoa or vegetables, the company said. The shrimp are certified by Best Aquaculture Practices, and each five-ounce portion contains 11 grams of protein. The Breaded Flounder Tenders feature MSC-certified flounder coated in breading, with each two-piece serving containing seven grams of protein. The Breaded Scallops are made with MSC-certified Patagonian scallops in a seasoned breadcrumb crust, with eight grams of protein per three-ounce portion.
SeaPak said all three products can be prepared in less than 10 minutes using an oven, air fryer or sauté pan, depending on the item, and contain no artificial flavors. The company said the products use responsibly sourced ingredients and are intended to provide flexible meal and snack options.
The launch follows research showing increased consumer interest in seafood variety, bold flavors and convenient meal solutions, the company said. SeaPak cited menu trends showing flounder postings up 13% and chili lime flavors projected to grow 22% over the next four years.
“Consumers want exciting flavors and easy ways to enjoy high-quality seafood at home. These new products offer all of that,” said Kelly Rabinowitz, Director Marketing, Frozen Retail Brands at Rich Products Corp., the parent company of SeaPak. “From zesty Chili Lime Shrimp to crispy Breaded Scallops and Flounder Tenders, each item brings something unique to the freezer aisle and reflects how we’re listening closely to what shoppers want.”
SeaPak said the new products are rolling out to Food Lion, Weis Markets, SpartanNash, BJ’s Wholesale Club and other retailers, with availability varying by store.
