Cutting solutions specialist, FAM has unveiled two new Tridis machines for processors of potatoes and vegetables/fruits at Fruit Logistica 2019.
According to the company, the FAM Tridis 180 and FAM Tridis 180P tridimensional dicers are specially designed to help customers reach perfect cut quality at medium-high volumes. The cutting principle behind the novel machines is based on the cutting technology of the Tridis 240, FAM’s high capacity dicer.
The FAM Tridis 180 is said to be able to deliver superior cut quality for hard root vegetables such as potato, onion, beet, and carrot, while the 180P was designed for the processing of potatoes in French fries, small sticks and dices. A wide range of cut sizes is available from 3 to 25mm in dices and stripes, flat and crinkle shapes. The two dicers can achieve capacities from 1,500 kg per hour on 3mm dices and up to 6 tons per hour on 10mm dices.
FAM notes that thanks to the obstruction-free product flow and minimal cutting zone length, the two new dicers can run at a higher velocity. Moreover, the inside of the impeller wheel is large enough to accept a 180mm long product in any dimension.
FAM already offers the low-capacity FAM Dorphy and the high capacity FAM Tridis 240, so the new Tridis 180 and 180P come to close the gap, said the company.
