STEF announces the acquisition of a 100% stake in the Dutch company Speksnijder Transport. With this operation, Stef strengthens its position and broadens its transport and logistics services offer in Northern Europe.
Koen Torrekens, managing director of Stef Benelux, said: “Already present in Belgium at three locations, we strengthen our own assets in Northern Europe with the acquisition of a well-known family company, with a strong reputation in our market. With a groupage network for temperature-controlled products in Belgium, France, Switzerland, Italy and the Iberian peninsula, Stef can help manufacturers from Southern Europe to develop their business in the Netherlands, and Dutch operators more easily access markets in Southern Europe.”
Founded in 1982 and managed by Wilma Speksnijder, Speksnijder Transport offers logistics and groupage services across Benelux, operating from a bi-temperature 6 500 m2 platform. Its turnover for 2013 stood at EUR13.5m, with 117 employees and 73 vehicles.
For Wilma Speksnijder, who remains at the helm of the company, “joining the STEF Group, which is ideally complementary, is a natural move to further strengthen our market position, with a better commercial proposition and a connection to a European network. We will rely on the Stef network to develop our international transport business from the Netherlands.”
