Italian Frozen pasta producer Surgital is on the lookout for creative chefs, in a new competition started recently, which calls for foodservice professionals to create an original filling for their range of pasta products
The rules of the competition state that each contestant must make 1kg of filling, without any limitations concerning the ingredients used. However, Surgital will not allow the use of chemical additives or coloring agents. Instead, only natural preservatives are permitted. Chefs should also take note that they will create a filling for a square-type of pasta, produced by Surgital.
To enter the contest, chefs must present a valid VAT number, either their own or that of the restaurant they work for and all entries must be submitted by March 30th 2015.
The winner, selected by a panel of experts from Surgital’s R&D Center, will receive a prize of EUR2000 and their final product will be included in one of the company’s ranges of fresh frozen pasta.
Moreover, the winning product will be Surgital’s product of the year for 2015-2016. The winning entrant will be announced at Tuttofood show (3-6 May 2015), Italy’s leading food show which will be inaugurating the 2015 Milan EXPO.
