UK pub chain, JD Wetherspoon, has expanded its plant-based offerings with the launch of its new vegan burger. The burger, which uses The Meatless Farm’s vegan patty, can be upgraded to gourmet standard – with the addition of avocado, salsa, and rocket.
According to plantbasednews.org, after the company won the ‘Best Vegan Noodles’ award for its Teriyaki Noodles meal in 2017, Wetherspoon’s Food Development Manager, Oliver Addis, said: “We are keen to offer our customers as wide a range of meals as possible and this includes a selection of vegan meals.”
Since the award, the budget pub and hotel chain has also added a vegan Full English breakfast to its menu, using Quorn’s plant-based sausages.
“Wherever you live or travel in the UK, you’re never far from a delicious hot vegan meal, thanks to Wetherspoon’s vegan options,” Addis commented.
