Frozen food producer Dirafrost has held an extraordinary meeting with the employees’ representatives, regarding consultations for a potential company reorganization project, which could lead to stopping some of the activities Dirafrost undertakes in Belgium.
If approved by the company’s Board of Directors, the reorganization would lead to the lay-off of a significant number of employees, according to the company.
“Dirafrost aims through this project to further improve its efficiency, while the European frozen fruit market is affected by strong pressure on margins. Keeping an excellent level of service, while continuously improving the quality of the products, is also a key target of this project. Distribution to clients would be unchanged. In parallel, the sales organization would be streamlined,” company representatives said.
If the project is confirmed, Dirafrost would keep core departments in Belgium, in particular sales, purchase, supply chain, quality, HR and finance.
