Fullers Foods International, a family-owned business with a revenue of about GBP400m and headquarters in Leeds, has been sold for an undisclosed value, with the whole consideration being paid at closing, according to the British Frozen Food Federation (BFFF).
Former Fullers Foods co-CEOs Adam and Jason Fuller had been debating their options for how to best transfer ownership of the company, so they were thrilled that a purchase could be financed by a group of private investors who supported the current management team.
The management team is being led by Kevin Smith, who has collaborated closely with the Fullers family for more than 18 years, the last five as managing director. Kevin Smith will assume the position of CEO. Kevin has more than 25 years of experience working in the food and retail industries, including 13 years at ASDA and commercial positions at Young’s Seafood.
“In looking at who best to take over stewardship of the Fullers business and to ensure continuity of operations for our customers and suppliers, Adam and I felt the time had come to hand over Fullers to a younger generation who are excellently placed to take the company onto the next level of growth,” Jason Fuller said. “We strongly believe that under Kevin’s sustained leadership Fullers will be in safe hands, will remain at the forefront of the food industry and will continue to thrive. The loyalty and dedication of the whole team here at Fullers has been first class and we would like to thank them for their unwavering support over the years.”
