Anritsu Gets Certified by the National Metrology Institute of Germany

The National Metrology Institute of Germany’s highly desired PTB accreditation has been awarded to Anritsu Ltd, a leading global provider of inline product detection and inspection equipment for the food and pharmaceutical industries. The exceedingly high standards required by PTB have never before been met by any X-ray technology.

The certification applies to Anritsu’s most popular KXS7522 and KXS7534 models, which are valued throughout Europe and beyond. Customers may install the Anritsu machine into a line and start using it right away, reducing both commissioning time and test fees. This means that visits by a radiation specialist to test a new machine before it is put to use are no longer required.

The application was greatly helped by Anritsu’s distribution partner HHL Service, which is headquartered close to Frankfurt. The HHL team, coordinated by Karina Mueller, completed all the necessary application documentation and was in charge of the testing processes on Anritsu’s behalf. They have extensive experience in radiation technology.

“PTB is the second largest metrology institute in the world so this is a really big deal for us and Anritsu. This type of X-ray system has been described in the X-ray Ordinance and now the Radiation Protection Act for about 20 years, but no other manufacturer has yet managed to get PTB approval. The scope of the technical examination and administrative documentation is so challenging that many other manufacturers have failed or abandoned the application. We are absolutely delighted to have stayed committed to the superiority of this technology and seen the process through, to gain one of Europe’s most prestigious accreditations,” according to Karina Mueller.
