Urschel–KRONEN Partnership Highlights New Direction in Food Processing at SNX

The collaboration between Urschel and Germany-based KRONEN is set to take center stage at SNX 2026, where the companies will present processing technologies aimed at improving efficiency across food production lines.

From March 29 to March 31, 2026, visitors to SNX will have the opportunity to explore the companies’ combined capabilities and learn how the partnership is expanding equipment options for food processors. Urschel will be present at Booth 45 in the event’s Experience Zone, where attendees can meet with representatives or arrange one-on-one discussions to examine how the collaboration with KRONEN can help producers meet increasingly complex operational demands. The event will also feature the MicroAdjustable SL-14, an Urschel cutting solution designed to reshape potato chip processing.

The partnership between Urschel and KRONEN was formed in July 2025 and enables Urschel to offer a selection of KRONEN equipment, including peelers, washers, dryers and conveyors, in key international markets. By incorporating KRONEN’s technology portfolio, Urschel has broadened its processing solutions and strengthened its position as a supplier capable of supporting multiple stages of food preparation and production.

The expanded lineup reflects a strategy to provide processors with more integrated solutions as production lines become more specialized and technologically demanding. The companies say the combined offering allows customers to address a wider range of operational needs while maintaining efficiency across diverse cutting and preparation applications.

Among the equipment showcased at SNX will be the Urschel SL-14 Slicing Head, designed to increase throughput for snack manufacturers. Equipped with 14 cutting stations, the system delivers nearly twice the capacity of the standard eight-shoe slicing head. The flat-slice cutting head features micro-adjustability and a quick-clamping mechanism that enables knife changes with minimal tools and without removing the head from the machine. Its design incorporates carefully spaced cutting stations intended to maximize slice engagement and maintain consistent output.

The technology is aimed particularly at potato chip processors seeking to increase production efficiency while reducing operational costs over time. With its flexible slicing capabilities, the SL-14 is positioned as a tool for manufacturers looking to optimize performance across high-volume snack production lines.

SNX, held at the Hyatt Regency Dallas, brings together professionals from across the snack industry for a series of meetings and discussions focused on emerging technologies, operational challenges and market trends. The event is structured to facilitate direct exchanges between suppliers and processors, combining networking sessions with expert insights into the evolving snack manufacturing landscape.
