Multivac has started the construction of a new distribution centre in Wolfertschwenden, Germany, following an investment of EUR11.9m.
The distribution centre will cover an area of 5,400 sqm and will be equipped with the newest and most efficient storage systems. It will be accomplished by the end of 2015.
“The investment is meant to further optimize the spare part provisioning of our 17 European affiliates”, says Hans-Joachim Boekstegers, director and CEO at Multivac. “By implementing the new distribution centre we are able to further optimize the availability and lead time for our spare parts. The new distribution centre will be the first step in the redirection of our distribution concept, with additional centers in other regions being planned.”
