Oxford Frozen Foods Limited, a Canadian supplier of frozen wild blueberries, is planning a CAD8.5m capital investment to create an improved packaging line, according to a report from Global News.
The company will then be eligible to earn a maximum rebate of CAD2.1m upon completion of the project from Nova Scotia’s business agency. An approved rebate under the program is up to 25% against eligible costs. Projects between CAD2m and CAD15m are eligible.
It’s not the first time the company has applied for a rebate with the local government. The firm was approved for an innovation rebate last July worth up to CAD702,205 based on a CAD2.82m project to upgrade sorting equipment.
On top of blueberries, Oxford Frozen Foods also sells carrots and appetizers including Onion Rings, Battered Mushrooms, Zucchini sticks, and Battered and Breaded Cheese Sticks.
