Melanie Domer and Erin Legge have been appointed to the positions of chief marketing officer (CMO) and chief financial officer (CFO), respectively, at the plant-based company Daiya.
Legge will oversee the finance and IT teams of the company that boasts the largest plant-based food manufacturing facility of its kind in North America. Domer will lead the Consumer Marketing and Innovation teams, driving a deeper connection to Daiya consumers and helping to build a game-changing innovation pipeline. Legge will also oversee the Consumer Marketing and Innovation teams.
Domer is a seasoned CPG veteran who has more than two decades of experience in consumer marketing, innovation, and sales. Throughout his career, Domer has worked his way up to leadership positions in some of the most successful consumer packaged goods companies, including S.C. Johnson, Mars Wrigley, and General Mills. Domer’s ability to drive brand growth with a consumer and retailer lens will be instrumental in helping Daiya pioneer plant-based breakthroughs in its next chapter of growth, and she will play a pivotal role in this endeavor.
Additionally, Legge brings more than 20 years of experience to the table in her new role. Her previous position at Daiya was that of Vice President of Strategic Projects and Integration, and she had initially joined the company in the year 2021. She worked for George Weston Limited and Weston Foods for a combined 17 years, during which time she held a variety of roles with progressively higher levels of responsibility within the finance and operations teams of both companies before joining Daiya. Domer and Legge will both be reporting to Watt and will complete the company’s senior leadership team. Shawn McLaughlin, who was most recently appointed to the position of SVP of Sales in September 2022, is also a member of this team.
Daiya’s plant-based foods can be found in over 25,000 grocery stores across the United States and Canada, in addition to being sold online through a number of different e-commerce partnerships. Products manufactured by Daiya are distributed all over the world, particularly in Latin America, Europe, and Asia.
