Food Union, the global scale ice cream and dairy producing group have developed a range of novel cross-category ice creams inspired by some of the world’s best loved cocktails. Fusing the power of mixology with their confectionary expertise to create new taste sensations – bringing the bar to the freezer – with flavours based on cocktail favourites, Orange Spritz and Piña Colada.
“These new ice creams were developed at our Innovation Centre in Riga, Latvia to perfectly fuse the art of mixology with our ice cream know-how. By putting a modern twist on traditional dairy products enables us to broaden our consumer appeal and give our existing consumers the opportunity to explore new, tantilising flavours,” Normunds Stanevics, CEO of Food Union Europe said.
Both cocktail inspired products fall under Food Union’s EKSELENCE brand. EKSELENCE ice cream is the perfection of Latvian artisanship. Made from the richest Latvian milk and cream, combined with the finest quality, carefully selected ingredients, EKSELENCE offers a masterful taste experience, a company statement reads. To create these hybrid products that fuse cocktail bar favourites with ice cream, the Food Union development teams went through extensive processes to create, test, taste and tweak until they produced a quality finished product that captures the essence of a cocktail on a stick that will appeal to consumers this summer.
