While last year has been a challenging one for the entire food industry, frozen has come out on top, generating impressive growth which will most likely give a direction for years to come.

Snacks and appetizers have continued to enjoy success as a category, as people had to stay inside and enjoy the not-so-occasional snacking between meals. The same can be said about frozen vegetables, although this segment’s growth was generated more by consumers’ desire to cook and experiment with new recipes. Plant-based again left its mark, bringing more and more people closer to the idea of healthy eating. Another important factor here was the desire to avoid food waste.
